Oleg Poncefranco

is originally from southern Brazil, where, as a kid, he started his martial arts journey with Capoeira and Judo. It was not until he moved to the U.S. that he was introduced to Jiu-Jitsu in Pasadena by Rigan and Roger Machado in the early 2000s.

Soon after, he joined the Wander Braga academy, where he earned his purple belt. The journey continued after he moved to the Bay Area, where he joined the Ralph Gracie San Francisco Academy, which, at that time, was under the guidance of Kurt Osiander. In 2014, he had the honor of receiving his black belt from Kurt Osiander.

After moving back to Los Angeles, he found a new home at Renzo Gracie Los Angeles, where he continued to learn under the instruction of Shawn Williams. Later, he had the privilege of training at Meraki BJJ under the guidance of Kenny Florian and Jason Hunt.

In 2021, he officially started to train at 10th Planet Pasadena under the instruction of Erik "Compella" Cruz and Eric Ramey, and earned his no-gi black belt in 2023. Oleg brings his love for the grappling arts and experience on the mats to his teaching.
